Monte Nido & Affiliates Open Residential Eating Disorder Treatment Center for Adolescent Girls in Agoura Hills, CA
AGOURA HILLS, Calif., Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Monte Nido & Affiliates today announced the opening of Clementine, their newest eating disorder treatment center exclusively for adolescent girls aged 12–17 in Agoura Hills, CA.
Overseen by Medical Director and Board Certified Adolescent Psychiatrist Lauren Ozbolt, MD, FAED, CEDS and Clinical Director Lauren Hoover, MA, LMFT, the Clementine program's psychiatric and clinical teams offer decades of experience with adolescents and their families.
"Eating disorders are very serious, yet curable mental disorders that affect millions of adolescents each year," said Dr. Ozbolt. "We are thrilled to have designed a program specifically for adolescents and their loved ones. Families will not only notice the environment we have created for their daughter's recovery, but also the genuine care, competence, and creativity in the staff, as well as the integrated comprehensive academic support and strong philosophy of collaborations with outpatient providers, schools and families."
Studies show when an individual struggles with an eating disorder for more than three years, recovery is more difficult. With Clementine, adolescents receive customized treatment that significantly correlates with long-term health and greatly improves chances of full recovery. Located in an intimate home setting in the Santa Monica Mountains, Clementine blends personalized and sophisticated care with the latest research and strategies for adolescents struggling with eating disorders. The highly specialized medical, psychiatric, nutritional and clinical approach, sensitive to the developmental needs of adolescent girls, offers the highest level of care outside of a hospital setting.
"Eating disorders are devastating from both a psychological and medical perspective," said Chief Medical Officer Joel Jahraus, M.D., FAED, CEDS, an internal medicine physician who has cared for the medical complications of children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders for over 22 years. "Serious growth and development issues may occur with eating disorders, and research demonstrates the need to treat the eating disorder as early in the course of the illness as possible. At Clementine, we uphold the highest standards of care and safety throughout the course of treatment."
This Clementine location is preceded by Clementine programs in Miami, FL; Portland, OR and Briarcliff Manor, NY.
