Rooted in food-first, mindful care
Monte Nido encompasses multiple brands, each with its own uniqueness to meal planning. Despite these variances, our nutrition philosophy and approach remain consistent: we are a food-first organization rooted in mindfulness and informed by evidence-based practices. Our nutrition philosophy strives to challenge harmful norms through weight-inclusive care, identifying and healing the body’s needs, addressing challenges and fear foods, increasing sensory awareness, and moving towards values over judgement.
A behavior-focused approach to recovery
Our approach is behavior-focused, utilizing developmentally appropriate, repeated meal and snack exposures, and guided by caregiver and community involvement. At Monte Nido, we believe that individualized, compassionate care is at the heart of eating disorder recovery.
Support from registered dietitians
Our team of Registered Dietitians (RDs) work across multiple specialized programs and play a crucial role in helping our clients achieve a full and lasting recovery. Through multiple weekly interactions, our clients work with dietitians on individual goals and create meal plans that are inclusive, medically informed, and respectful of each client’s unique and specific needs.
Nutrition approach across our brands
At our higher levels of care at Monte Nido Walden and Monte Nido Rosewood, we offer an exchange-based nutrition approach. This allows for flexibility and reinforces a non-threatening approach to eating a wide variety of foods.
At Monte Nido and Monte Nido Clementine, our nutrition approach is based on visual plating and increasing internal awareness of hunger/fullness cues.
