Monte Nido Virtual ARFID Program
Virtual avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) for adolescents
This 10-week intensive outpatient programming (IOP) for ARFID provides remote care and support for children and adolescents ages 10-18 and their families. ARFID is more than just picky eating; it’s an eating disorder characterized by an aversion to food due to sensory characteristics, intense fear, and lack of interest in food. ARFID, which can lead to malnutrition, adverse health outcomes, and poor development, is believed to account for 5-13 percent of cases in specialist psychiatric and medical settings.
