Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center of Westchester For Eating Disorders to Open January 30, 2018
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Monte Nido & Affiliates, a leading provider of eating disorder treatment for over twenty years, will open Monte Nido's Eating Disorder Center of Westchester on January 30, 2018 in White Plains, NY. This center provides day treatment programming for adult and adolescent females and males with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and exercise dependency, as well as co-occurring substance use, trauma or mental health presentations.
"For the past several years, we've been asked to expand our program in the Westchester County, NY area to accommodate clients stepping down from our residential Monte Nido program for adult women in Irvington, NY, or Clementine program for adolescents in Briarcliff Manor, NY. This day treatment program in White Plains allows us to provide that continuum of care, as well as help those in the community who might simply need more support than outpatient therapy," said Doug Bunnell, PhD, CEDS, FAED, Chief Clinical Officer. "As a clinician that treats eating disorders, and as a resident of the New York metropolitan area, I know how much these services are needed locally. Our program emphasizes evidence-based treatment as a cornerstone, delivered by a team of recovered professionals that believe in a person's ability to become fully recovered."
"For years, I have admired Monte Nido's philosophy in which clients achieve a clear understanding of their eating disorder, the disorders' effect on their lives and treatment necessary for full recovery," commented Patricia Martucci, MA, LMFT, Clinical Director of Monte Nido Westchester. "As with all Monte Nido programs, clients are seen by a comprehensive and experienced multi-disciplinary treatment team that I am honored to lead at our Westchester program."
Monte Nido has published the only decade-long post-graduate outcome study on residential eating disorder clients. The approach helps clients regain a healthy relationship with food and their bodies through group participation, individual therapy and real life challenges such as shopping for food, preparing meals and eating as a family. Treatment at Monte Nido Westchester includes:
- Partial hospitalization up to six days per week
- Step-down options as a lower level of care is indicated
- High frequency individual and group therapy sessions
- Family therapy and multi-family groups
