Susan Barrett is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Monte Nido. She oversees all legal and compliance matters, managing legal risk across the organization and supervising compliance and regulatory initiatives. Susan’s team plays a key part in enabling high quality eating disorder care and expanding access to the care across the country.
Susan brings significant experience providing legal guidance to healthcare providers and organizations and has won numerous awards for her achievements. Most recently, she was named to Modern Counsel’s 35 Under 35 list, which recognizes the upcoming generation of legal industry leaders. Prior to entering the corporate world, Susan focused on corporate and private equity-backed transactions for healthcare industry clients at two national law firms.
Susan received an undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in Economics, English, and Communication from the University of Dayton, and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Susan is passionate about mentorship and has taught as an adjunct professor at the Duquesne University Kline School of Law since 2019. She also serves as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters. When not working or volunteering, Susan enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, and dog, as well as running, hiking, and traveling.
