Dr. Joel Jahraus is Vice President of Medical Services at Monte Nido, supervising medical care in all programs. A board-certified physician for over 40 years, he is a recognized expert on medical complications of eating disorders and is known for his decades of specialization in the medical management of patients with eating disorders.
He co-authored chapters on eating disorders in both the “Textbook of Psychosomatic Medicine” and “The Treatment of Eating Disorders: A Clinical Handbook” and testified at a U.S. Congressional briefing on the need for health insurance coverage for eating disorder treatment. He received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor and was named a Top Doctor of 2013 by “U.S. News and World Report.”
Dr. Jahraus graduated from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri, with a background in family medicine.
