Monte Nido & Affiliates Treatment Programs for Women with Eating Disorders Opens New Clementine Program for Adolescent Girls Aged 12-17
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The acclaimed Monte Nido & Affiliates programs, with eighteen programs nationally, dedicated to treating women with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorders, and exercise addiction, is opening Clementine, its new residential program exclusively for adolescent girls aged 12–17 in Portland. The Clementine program will debut in September 2016.
Located in an intimate home setting, in a private residential area of West Linn, Clementine blends personalized and sophisticated care with the latest research and strategies for adolescents suffering from eating disorders. The highly specialized medical, psychiatric, nutritional and clinical approach, sensitive to the developmental needs of adolescent girls, offers the highest level of integrated comprehensive academic and family support outside of a hospital setting.
"We are thrilled to have designed a program specifically for adolescent girls and their families," said Lauren Ozbolt, MD, Medical Director of Clementine. "Families and patients will not only notice the beautiful environment we have created for their daughter's recovery, but also the genuine care, competence, and creativity in all of our handpicked staff."
Studies have shown that when an individual struggles with an eating disorder for more than three years, recovery is more difficult. With the Clementine program, adolescents receive customized treatment, parent support/coaching and thorough aftercare planning all of which significantly correlate with long-term health and greatly improve chances of recovery.
"Eating disorders are devastating from both a psychological and medical perspective," said Dr. Joel Jahraus, MD, FAED, CEDS, and Chief Medical Officer, who has personally cared for the medical complications of children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders for over 22 years. "Serious growth and development issues may occur with eating disorders, and research has shown the need to treat the eating disorder as early in the course of the illness as possible. At Clementine, we uphold the highest standards of care and safety throughout the course of treatment."
Overseen by Dr. Jahraus, along with Clinical Director Zanita Zody, PhD, LMFT, the Clementine program's medical and psychiatric team offers decades of experience with adolescents and their families. Clementine has a strong philosophy of collaboration with outpatient providers, schools and family, as well as other stakeholders in a client's care. Clementine Portland is preceded by Clementine Pinecrest and Clementine South Miami, both of which treat adolescents and are located in South Florida. Clementine Portland offers a continuum of care as teens can step down to Monte Nido's day treatment programs in Portland or Eugene upon completion of residential treatment.
