Robert J. Keane Ph.D., LICSW is the Assistant Vice President for Program Development and Training at Monte Nido-Walden's Center for Recovery in Dedham, Massachusetts. He is a behavioral health administrator and clinician who has held positions of senior leadership in both the public and private sectors. Dr Keane has worked in public and private behavioral health hospitals, community mental health, government, and higher education.
For five years, Dr. Keane was the Regional Director for Boston at the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership (MBHP), the behavioral health carve-out for Medicaid at a critical juncture in healthcare funding in Massachusetts. He then served for four years as a Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Mental Health where he led innovative projects that enhanced the behavioral health system. In all settings, Dr. Keane has contributed to building a culture that balances high quality clinical service with sound business practice.
Dr. Keane holds a Master's degree and a Doctorate from the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work where he is currently a member of the faculty and teaches health policy. He is co-author with Stuart Koman of Solutions to Fragmentation in Behavioral Health Services: Designing and Operating an Integrated System of Care (in publication) nd is the author of a number of articles on social media and its impact on adolescents.
